One of our more unusual appointments was to carry out an inventory and check-in at Vanbrugh Castle, a Grade I listed property in Blackheath SE3. Steeped in history (based on the Bastille in Paris, it’s almost 300 years old and has been used as a film set), the property is now divided into four luxury split level apartments. We were asked to cover one with five bedrooms and two bathrooms, complete with a games room and gymnasium.
The property was fully furnished with myriad works of art and every single one was listed on the inventory report. It took two of our clerks three hours to dictate the report and take photos before checking in the tenants. The subsequent inventory returned by our New Zealand typists was over 150 pages long. The photos were uploaded onto the report which was emailed to be read and signed by tenant and landlord.
We’ll record every detail, no matter how small, or how many, to make our inventory reports as complete as possible.
